The bite has been really hot over the past few weeks in the Brainerd Lakes Area. Anglers are catching a lot of panfish, bass, and pike right now. Fish are starting to put the feed bag on in anticipation for the upcoming fall.

You can find crappies scattered along the weed lines in ten to fifteen feet of water. They can also be found on hard to soft bottom transitions in eighteen to twenty two feet of water. We have been catching these crappies by pitching and jigging small plastics like Mr. Twisters Sassy Stingum or by pulling spinners with fathead minnows along the weed line.

The bass and pike can be caught by casting the deeper weed line in ten to seventeen feet of water.

The best baits have been jigs with four to five inch paddle tails, crank baits, and spinnerbaits.

Overall the walleye bite in the Brainerd Lakes Area has been pretty streaky. You can find fish along the weed lines in fifteen feet or so and you can find fish out on that deepwater structure in twenty-two out to thirty feet of water.

Rapala Jigging Raps are producing the most bites, but you can catch a few Lindy rigging with minnows.

If you guys are looking to get out you can book a trip through my website or you can give me a call. Good luck out there on the water and enjoy the fishing!
