Northern Wisconsin Buzz Bite Report 6-29-2021

by | Jun 29, 2021 | 0 comments

This week in Northern Wisconsin the weather has just continued to be super hot; with temperatures in the high eighties.

The water temperatures are pretty consistent in the mid seventies on most lakes around Hayward, Wisconsin.

I was up on Chequamegon Bay about a week ago and I found a wide range of water temperatures from low 60s to mid 70s.

The bite has been a little bit tougher out on Chequamgon Bay. The post spawn bite has been slow and fish are moving out towards deeper water.

Down by the Hayward area the post-spawn smallmouth bass bite has been really good over the last week. Every day is a little bit different though so you got to try to mix and match what you’re doing until you figure out what they want each day.

Some days it’s been a ned rig on the bottom, other days it’s been a top water bite and sometimes it’s swimming a grub over the shallow rocks in five to six feet.

The walleye fishing has slowed up a bit.

We had that really good bite going over the last month and then we had a lot of bug hatches over the last week so it has just been a little bit tougher.

You can still get them on slip boppers and leeches or jigs at leeches the bite is just a little slower.

I hope everybody’s able to get out on the water this weekend catch a bunch of fish and have a great time! If your looking to get out fishing in Northern Wisconsin you can reach me through my website or cell.
