Duluth superior area

Duluth Superior Area Buzz Bite Report 6-29-2021

The bite has been good in the Duluth / Superior area over the past week. We have been doing some trolling for walleyes with a combination of worm harnesses and crankbaits with snap weights.

We have found our best success on that seventeen foot break along the deeper channels and sand bars of the St. Louis river.

One thing we have noticed is the best bite has been when we are trolling slow, around 1.3 to 1.6 mph.

Lake Superior still has some stained water and trolling stickbaits has been producing some trout and salmon and the occasional walleye.

Bright colors still continue to work the best. Orange, Pinks, and bright yellows and greens.

Look for that bite to continue into July as the water temperatures increase.

The inland lakes smallmouth and largemouth bass fishing has been great. We have been catching a lot of sallies on rock piles and on deep wood structure.

Chatterbaits and soft plastics have been the ticket. Ned rigs or wacky rigged senkos have been the best producing soft plastics.

Sunfish can be found on the deep weed edges. Night crawlers under a bobber are gonna be your best bait. You will be able to find crappies in the same spots along the weed edges. Crappie minnows under a float or small crappie tubes will get it done for them.

Thats what we have going on in the Duluth / Superior area and the St. Louis river. Hopefully everyone is having a good time fishing and good luck out on the water!
