Hayward Wisconsin Buzz Bite Report 6-22-2021

by

With the warm weather we have had in the Hayward Wisconsin area, the fish are in the summertime patterns. There were a few nice bluegills still on beds, but majority of them had already finished spawning.

The walleyes are starting to move towards those deeper structures now away from the shallows.

Crawlers and leeches on slip bobbers is going to be your best live bait options for walleyes. The jigging rap bite should be heating up soon so that will be something to keep an eye on.

We found water temps in the mid 80s in some places this week, but those will drop with some cooler weather in the forecast.

The largemouth bass have moved out of the shallows for the most part and are now hanging around the weed line in six to fourteen feet of water. Bass jigs, crankbaits, and soft plastics are gonna be your go to baits.

Smallmouth bass can be found around rock in that same depth. Ned rigs, bass jigs and crawfish imitations are going to give you the best success.

The deep weed lines are also holding panfish. Crappies can be caught in seven to fifteen feet of water. Small crappie tubes are working well.

Northern Pike can be caught casting the weed line with spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Medium sized suckers under a float would work as well.

Enjoy the nice weather in the forecast for the Hayward Wisconsin area and get out fishing and get hooked up!
