Brainerd Lakes Area

Brainerd Lakes Area Buzz Bite Report 6-14-2021

by

The Brainerd Lakes Area bite has been pretty solid throughout the heat wave we are currently in.

Water temperatures were on the rise fast. We found water temps in the mid seventies.

The northern pike have been really active along the weedlines and there is a great trolling bite happening right now. The best depths for northern pike have been between six to fourteen feet of water with thick weed growth.

Crankbaits, spinnerbaits, swim jigs and live sucker minnows under a float will all produce good numbers of fish.

The walleye bite has been a little slower, but you can still catch a few fish during those primetime hours in the early morning and late evening.

The walleyes have been scattered in six to fourteen foot gravel and weed patches. They are also showing up on some mid lake structure in 24 to 28 feet of water.

Live bait rigs and slip bobbers have been the most productive for us during the day.

Night trolling stickbaits is also producing some nice walleyes on the clearer bodies of water.

If you guys are looking to get out you can book a trip through my website or you can give me a call. Good luck out there on the water!
