The walleye bite on Mille Lacs Lake has been awesome over the past two weeks. A good number of walleyes have made the move out to the flats and leeches have been the ticket.

Water temps have really increased in the past week and are approaching the low seventy’s.

Lindy rigging leeches, a jig and a leech or a leech under a float will work for these walleyes out on the flats.

During your primetime hours in the morning and even the walleyes will be up on top cruising the flats. During the day most of our fish came on the transition in twenty four to twenty eight feet of water.

The smallmouth bass bite is really going strong as well. Anglers are getting a lot of fish on Ned Rigs, drop shots and other soft plastics.

The best bite has been in the southern end of Mille Lacs lake near Isle, MN.

If you guys are looking to get out you can reach me through my website or you can give me a call. Good luck out there on the water!
