Rainy River 3-30-2021 Buzz Bite Report

by

The Rainy river walleye bite has been going strong with a lot of nice caliber fish being caught. Most of the fish are being caught on a jig and minnow or a jig and plastic. The key depths have been in nine to about thirteen feet along the current seams. Most of the active fish we graphed were in that depth range.

One bait that has really been working for me is the Mr. Twister Sassy Swimmer on a quarter once jig. The sassy swimmer is a four inch paddle tail that gives off a ton of action in the current. Working it back slowly with the occasional pop triggered most of our strikes.

The rainy river sturgeon bite has slowed a bit but some really big fish are still being caught. Most fish are coming on crawlers and dead shiners on 6/0 circle hooks.

If you guys are looking to get out fishing this spring in the Brainerd Lakes Area you can reach me by my cell or through my website. Good luck and tight lines!
