Easy Wheelhouse Breakfast

If you are an angler that enjoys overnight ice fishing in a wheelhouse you have definitely faced the dilemma of what to cook for breakfast the following morning after chasing rattle reels all night. Well, Joel Nelson has an easy wheelhouse breakfast that cooks overnight in a crockpot and is ready to go when you wake up in the morning.

To start you will need a carton of eggs, cheese, sausages, 1 cup of milk, salt, pepper, and any other seasoning you may want. You will also need a bag of potatoes. They can be diced potatoes or hash browns, or tatter tots it is a personal preference.

This breakfast is kind of like a layered breakfast casserole. You will want to prepare and begin cooking this the night before because it takes about eight hours to cook in the crockpot.

You begin by putting down a layer of potatoes in the crockpot. Make sure you season them well.

Next, add a layer of the sausage. You will want to make sure you have everything spread out evenly so it all cooks at the same time.

The next layer you add is cheese and once that is done you have the first layer complete of your wheelhouse breakfast.

Now you will begin the process over again. Add potatoes and season them well.

Then add sausages and cheese.

For the final layer repeat the process of adding potatoes, seasoning them well, and then adding sausage and cheese.

Once you have all your layers completed you will want to take a large mixing bowl and crack one dozen eggs into it.

Mix that up and add one cup of milk to the eggs. Once it is stirred up completely go ahead and pour that into the crockpot.

After that, your easy wheelhouse breakfast is ready to cook for eight hours and will be ready to go by morning. Enjoy!
