Underwater Footage of a Fall Musky Following a Sucker Rig

Fall is the season for chasing big muskies around the north country. While many anglers will chunk Bulldawgs, Medusas and the like, others will feel much more confident pulling a big juicy sucker minnow for fall musky. They aren’t cheap, but they are tough to beat when water temperatures drop down below 50 degrees in fall.

In this phenomenal video, Bill Lindner captures footage of a fall musky inquisitively following a sucker minnow. Although this video doesn’t climax in an exciting strike, it’s still quite a sight to see.

You can learn a lot about musky by just watching how this musky trails and reacts with the sucker minnow. It really goes to show how far fish will follow your bait and why when your are casting for these fish your L turns and figure eights are some important on every cast.

Another thing we can learn about this video is how musky react to different movements from the sucker minnow. It appears to lose interest and then as the sucker minnow tires to get away it comes in for another close look.

It is amazing how much you can learn with each musky encounter.
