Shallow crappies are both finicky and spooky, tucked within shallow weeds, reeds or wood cover. Polarized sunglasses reveal their location on calm, sunny days. The fish won’t chase fast-moving lures, but respond well to small jigs or livebaits dangled below bobbers.
